Terms and Agreement for Performers, Speakers, MCs, Panellists and Facilitators participating in Africa Day Australia Events

1. Who We Are

Since 2012, Africa Day Australia Inc. (ADA) has proudly led Africa Day celebrations in Melbourne, growing from humble beginnings into a vibrant movement that brings African Australians and friends of Africa together in a spirit of unity, pride and shared identity.

Each year in May, Africa Day Australia delivers a flagship series of events celebrating African culture, achievement and connection. In addition, ADA delivers ad-hoc events, forums and engagements throughout the year.

Africa Day Australia is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organisation powered by passionate individuals from across the African diaspora, alongside the broader Australian and international community.

2. Our Mission

Africa Day Australia’s mission is to contribute to Australia’s cultural harmony and multicultural history by celebrating the diversity, strength and contributions of African Australian communities.

Our objectives include:

• Fostering community cohesion

• Driving unity, leadership and capacity building

• Strengthening community identity

• Promoting partnerships between Africa and Australia

3. About This Agreement

This Agreement outlines expectations and responsibilities for all participants engaged in Africa Day Australia events.

4. Responsibilities of Participants

Participants agree to:

• Be responsive to communication

• Provide required bios, images and details

• Ensure content is family-friendly

• Act professionally at all times

5. Fees and Invoicing

Where applicable, invoices must be submitted by agreed deadlines and include correct bank details.

6. Responsibilities of Africa Day Australia

Africa Day Australia agrees to confirm roles, provide briefings, promote participants and process payments within five working days post-event.

7. Privacy and Confidentiality

All non-public information must be treated as confidential.

8. Media and Photography

Participants consent to photography and recording for promotional purposes.

9. Liability and Indemnity

Participants accept risk and indemnify Africa Day Australia against claims arising from their actions.

10. Acknowledgement

Participation confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

11. Term

This Agreement applies to all Africa Day Australia events.
